Early trash pickup on Halloween aims to keep trick-or-treaters safe
To ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters and area drivers on Halloween, Mid Michigan Waste Authority refuse collection services will begin an hour earlier on Monday, October 31.
Waste Management garbage, yard waste, and recycling trucks will hit the streets to start collecting solid waste materials at 6am on Halloween instead of the normal 7am start time. To assist with getting refuse collection services completed before trick or treat activities begin, residents in communities serviced on Halloween should place their materials at the curb by 6am.
The affected communities include:
Brant Township
Jonesfield Township
Kochville Township
Lakefield Township
Marion Township
Village of Merrill
City of Saginaw (residents with Monday service only)
Saginaw Township (south of Weiss)
Swan Creek Township
