Beginning November 7, 2011, a new program is being offered through the Saginaw County Department of Public Health (SCDPH), Office of Environmental Health for Saginaw County residents. Under the free Medication Disposal Program, both prescription and non-prescription unwanted/leftover medications can be dropped at any of eight (8) different law enforcement locations across the County for safe disposal. Items can be dropped off to location staff during normal business hours. For more information about this program, contact Steve Alworden, SCDPH at 989-758-3685.

Needles can be disposed of with curbside trash collection by placing them in a detergent or bleach bottle. Securely close the cap and plainly write “SHARPS” on the container.
Check with your local law enforcement department for proper disposal information.
