Public Education and Outreach

Connecting residents with resources

Mid Michigan Waste Authority is committed to educating residents about the benefits of recycling, reuse and waste reduction, and we believe that being a strong community partner is the first step in sharing that message. Among our community education efforts:

  • Earth Day Celebration at the Children’s Zoo at Celebration Square in Saginaw
  • Presentations to neighborhood associations, community groups, churches, and other organizations
  • Participation in community events, including festivals, farmers’ markets, family nights, library programs, parks and recreation activities, and more
  • Free trash and recycling educational presentations to preschool – 8th grade classrooms in its 34 member communities

For more details about community presentations and event participation, contact our Community Engagement Officer Carol Somers at (989) 781-9555 or csomers@recyclemotion.org.
