Other Options
This item can be accepted for curbside bulky waste.
UNBROKEN GLASS:
- If the glass is not broken, tape a large “X” shape across the front and back of the glass in duct tape to prevent shattering.
- On the front and the back, tape a square around where the glass meets the frame in addition to the X.
- Panes of glass not enclosed by a frame should have the taped X on both sides and be placed between two pieces of cardboard that are securely taped closed and clearly marked “glass.”
- The more tape you use, the safer it is for collection by the driver, so add extra strips of tape across the glass for even less risk.
LOOSE/BROKEN GLASS:
- If you live in a community serviced by Priority Waste broken glass should be contained in a rigid plastic container or sturdy cardboard box that is securely taped shut and placed at the curb with your trash. Write “broken glass” on the outside of the container so the driver knows to handle it with care. The container should count as one bulk item and it will not be returned.
- If you live in a community serviced by WM broken glass should be contained in a rigid plastic container or sturdy cardboard box that is securely taped shut and placed into the MMWA cart with the blue lid labeled trash only.
MMWA residents are allowed up to two bulk items per week. Bulk items should be placed at the curb, along with other properly prepared materials, no later than 7:00 am on your regular service day. MMWA does not schedule bulk pick-up in advance. The trash driver is responsible for collecting your properly prepared bulk item and getting it scheduled for pick up. If the truck is full, or the driver is not able to collect the item by himself, the driver should be placing an orange (WM communities) or yellow (Priority Waste communities) sticker on the material marking the box that reads item pick up scheduled do NOT remove from the curb. The bulk truck runs 1-2 business days behind the regular trash truck. For example, if you have a Monday collection day, your items should be collected by the bulk truck by the end of the day on Wednesday. If your item was tagged for collection and is not picked up by the end of the second business day, please give us a call.
If your bulk item does not have an orange (WM communities) or yellow (Priority Waste communities) sticker, please call either on your collection day or within one business day of your collection day. That is our window of time to look into it.
