⚠️ Service Update – December 26, 2025
Due to severe icy road conditions and ongoing freezing rain, Waste Management has suspended all collections today, Friday, December 26. Roadway conditions remain hazardous, making safe operation of collection vehicles impossible at this time.
Rescheduled Collection – Friday, January 2, 2026
Because of today’s suspension and the one‑day New Year holiday delay, the following communities will be serviced on Friday, January 2, 2026:
- Village of Birch Run
- Buena Vista Township
- Carrollton Township
- Chesaning Township
- St. Charles Township
Extra Material Guidelines (These Communities Only)
For the listed communities, Waste Management will collect extra trash and recycling next Friday if placed outside your carts:
- Extra trash: Must be bagged and under 50 lbs
- Extra recycling: Must be placed loose in a container, under 50 lbs
Priority Waste Update
Priority Waste will attempt collection today, Friday, December 26, in the following areas, weather permitting:
- Birch Run Township
- City of Saginaw
Please note that drivers will be proceeding slowly and cautiously due to the ongoing icy conditions.
Safety Reminder
Waste Management and Priority Waste drivers always prioritize safety. Severe weather may cause delays or cancellations. If your road is impassable, collection will resume on your next scheduled service day.
Driving a trash or recycling truck is not the same as driving a personal vehicle—collection trucks are heavy, tightly compacted, and can tip more easily on slick or uneven roads. Safety must come first.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please stay safe and use caution if you must travel. ❄️🧊
