One Day Delay Due to the Thanksgiving Day Holiday

A friendly reminder to our MMWA member community residents. Due to the upcoming Thanksgiving Day holiday on Thursday, November 25th, if your trash is normally collected on Thursday, you should have your properly prepared materials at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on Friday. If your trash is normally collected on Friday, have your properly prepared materials at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on Saturday.

One Day Delay Due to the Labor Day Holiday

The upcoming Labor Day holiday does impact solid waste collection services provided to the 34 Mid Michigan Waste Authority (MMWA) member communities. There will be no trash, recycling, or yard waste collection provided on Monday, September 6. With the holiday falling on a weekday, collection services will be delayed one day for every community the week of Labor Day. Residents should prepare and set out materials one day later than they normally do during the holiday week.

One Day Delay Due to the Memorial Day Holiday

The upcoming Memorial Day holiday does impact solid waste collection services provided to the 34 Mid Michigan Waste Authority (MMWA) member communities. There will be no trash, recycling, or yard waste collection provided on Monday, May 31, 2021. With the holiday falling on a weekday, collection services will be delayed one day for every community the week of Memorial Day. Residents should prepare and set out materials one day later than they normally do during the holiday week.

2021 Special Waste Drop Off Season

Beginning in May, Mid Michigan Waste Authority plans to offer six all in one drop off days for household problem wastes, including paint, electronics, and hazardous waste, as well as two document shredding events. The program will run from May through October and is free to residents of Saginaw County, Bethany Township, Village of Breckenridge, and Wheeler Township. The events cannot accept waste from businesses, farms, schools, or non-profit organizations.

Appointments are required.

2020 Holiday Collection Impact

Residents with a Monday – Thursday service day, should set their materials out on their regular collection day. Collection will take place on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Residents with a Friday service day, should set their materials out on Saturday, as collection will be delayed by one day for each holiday

No Delay in Collection Services Due to Columbus Day Holiday

The upcoming Columbus Day holiday on Monday, October 12, will not cause any delays in trash and recycling services provided to the 34 communities served by the Mid Michigan Waste Authority. Residents should prepare and set out materials on their regularly scheduled collection day during the holiday week.
