Freezing temps impact service to Mid Michigan Waste Authority communities
SAGINAW, MI – Due to the expected sub-zero temperatures, solid waste collection services will be canceled in eight mid-Michigan communities on Thursday, January 31.
Those communities are Birch Run Twp, Village of Birch Run, Buena Vista Twp, Carrollton Twp, Chesaning Twp, Richland Twp, St Charles Twp, and the City of Saginaw.
Mid Michigan Waste Authority trash and recycling collection services, operated by Waste Management, will NOT be running on Thursday. Recycling trucks from the City of Saginaw will also not be collecting in the City.
Residents in those communities should hold their materials until their next regular service day. Do not place trash or recycling to the curb, as collection trucks will not return until next week.
Weather conditions for Friday, February 1 are being closely monitored to ensure that collection workers and communities stay safe. Residents in all MMWA member communities should refer to MMWA’s Facebook page and website, www.recyclemotion.org, for the most current announcements regarding potential inclement weather impacts.
