The Mid Michigan Waste Authority (MMWA) is pleased to announce that yard waste collection will resume on Monday, April 20, 2020, for its member communities participating in yard waste services.

Residents can place their properly prepared yard waste curbside no later than 7 am on their regular collection day. Yard waste includes leaves, grass clippings, and sticks less than two inches in diameter. Yard waste should be placed in brown kraft bags or in cans between 20 – 35 gallons in size. Any container and its contents should weigh no more than 50 pounds. We do recognize that volumes will be high to begin with. We recommend that residents not remove their yard waste from the curb.

At this time, bulk collection remains suspended. A bulk item, commonly thought to be something like a couch, is defined as anything not contained in a bag or a can and/or any item that weighs more than 50 pounds.

MMWA is focused on the safety of our residents and collection workers. We encourage residents to continue properly containing materials. Please give your driver plenty of room to safely collect your materials.

This is a fluid situation. Please check MMWA’s Facebook page and our website, recyclemotion.org, for the most up to date information.
